The Saudi Arabia’s 2030 Vision aims at bridging the gap between labor market requirements and the higher education outcomes. It anticipates guidance of students towards appropriate career choices with opportunity for occupational rehabilitation and flexibility of relocating among different educational tracks. The ambitious 2030 Vision aspires that at least five Saudi universities to become among the top 200 universities in the world by the year 2030.

The undertaking of the DGS requires leadership based upon strategic visioning of the Kingdom’s needs for a graduate-educated citizenry and workforce, wise stewardship of King Saud University's human, physical and financial resources in behalf of delivering outstanding programs. The strategic objectives and initiatives that follow, derived from an analysis of the current status of graduate studies at KSU, amplify these ideas.
