Master of College of Humanities and Social Sciences in Arabic Language

1. Applicant must hold a full-time bachelor’s degree in the Arabic language and its literature from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA, or equivalent.
2. Degrees obtained from teachers’ colleges (the elementary education track) shall not be accepted; however, degrees obtained from teachers’ colleges (intermediate and secondary education tracks) may be accepted.
3. Passing a written examination held by the department.

1. Applicant must hold a full-time master’s degree in the Arabic language and its literature from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. Applicant holding a master’s degree (courses without a dissertation track) should hold a minimum of (4.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
3. Passing a written examination held by the department.

History

• Ancient History

1. Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree in history from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of an “Above Average” (3.25/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. Relevant humanities disciplines with a minimum of "Very Good" (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent may be accepted; for relevant disciplines, the applicant must refer to the concerned department before starting the application process on the electronic portal.
3. Passing a written examination held by the department.

National History of KSA

1. Applicant must have a master’s degree in history from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of "Very Good" (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. Relevant humanities disciplines with a minimum of "very good" (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent may be accepted; for relevant the applicant must refer to the concerned department before starting the application process on the electronic portal.
3. Passing a written examination held by the department.

Geography

1. Applicant must have a bachelor’s degree (regular or non-regular) in geography or relevant disciplines (civil engineering, survey engineering, hydrography, geomatics, information systems, IT, urban planning, geology, environment, renewable energy, emergency medicine, public health, agriculture, soil, biology, physics, chemistry, political science, meteorology, economy, economics, social studies, and tourism) from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. Applicant holding a bachelor’s degree or relevant disciplines with a “Good” (2.75/5) GPA may be accepted, provided that the GPA of the specialty course must be at least “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent; for relevant disciplines, the applicant must refer to the concerned department before starting the application process on the electronic portal.
3. Passing a written examination held by the department.

Geographical Information Systems

PhD in Geography

1. Applicant must have a master’s degree in geography or related disciplines from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent; for relevant disciplines, the applicant must refer to the concerned department before starting the application process on the electronic portal.
2. Passing a written examination held by the department.

Social Studies

1. Applicant must hold a full-time bachelor’s degree from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75) GPA or equivalent.
2.  Any discipline may be accepted.
3. Passing a written examination held by the department.

PhD in Social Studies

• Sociology

1. Applicant must hold a full-time master’s degree in sociology, social service, psychology, education, special education, anthropology, kindergarten, administrative science, political science, Islamic Sharia, law, mass communication, or agricultural extension and rural society for the sociology discipline only, from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. Passing a written examination held by the department.

English Language and Literature

Master of College of Humanities and Social Sciences in English Literature

1. Applicant must hold a full-time bachelor’s degree in English language and literature, comparative literature, or Arabic language and literature from King Saud University or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. An overall band score of at least 6.5 in the Academic IELTS test or equivalent in the TOEFL-IBT test.
3. Submitting a statement of purpose written in English
4. Passing a written examination held by the department
5. Distance, online, or blended learning is not accepted whatsoever (for the bachelor’s degree).

Master of College of Humanities and Social Sciences in Applied Linguistics

• Applied Linguistics

1. Applicant must hold a bachelor’s degree in English language and literature or relevant disciplines (English: linguistics, applied linguistics; English translation, educational English, TESOL, audiology and speech pathology) from King Saud University or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. An overall band score of at least 6.5 in the IELTS Academic test or equivalent in the TOEFL IBT test.
3. A score of at least 5.5 in the writing section of the Academic IELTS test or at least 20 in the writing section of the TOEFL IBT test.
4. Passing a written examination held by the department.
5. Distance, online, or blended learning is not accepted whatsoever (for the bachelor’s degree).

PhD in Applied Linguistics

1. Applicant must hold a master’s degree in the English language, linguistics, applied linguistics, theoretical linguistics, modern linguistics, English: translation, TESOL, or English teaching methodologies from King Saud University or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. An overall band score of at least 7 in the Academic IELTS test or equivalent in the TOEFL-IBT test.
3. A score of at least 6 in the Academic IELTS test (writing section) or at least 23 in the TOEFL-IBT test (writing section).
4. Passing a written examination held by the department.
5. Distance, online, or blended learning is not accepted whatsoever (for the master’s degree).

Mass Communication

1.  Applicant must hold a full-time bachelor’s degree in media from King Saud University or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.

PhD in Communication and Digital Media

1. Applicant must hold a master’s degree in mass communication from King Saud University or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.

Information Science

1. Applicant must hold a full-time bachelor’s degree in information science or information and library science from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of an “Above Average” (3.25/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. The department may accept the applicant having a full-time bachelor’s degree in disciplines relevant to information science or information and library science (computer, information systems, administrative information systems, IT, media, English, Arabic, social studies, geography, history, tourism and archaeology, education, administrative science, law, political science, engineering, architecture, and science) from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education, provided that the applicant must have a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent; for relevant disciplines, “the applicant must refer to the concerned department before starting the application process on the electronic portal”.

1. Applicant must hold a full-time master’s degree in information science or information and library science from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. Passing a written examination held by the department.

The applicant must hold a full-time bachelor’s degree in Arabic or English literature, comparative literature, translation, media, history, anthropology, fine arts, linguistics, political science, culture studies, theology, psychology, sociology, film studies or theater from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
2. A score of at least 6 in the IELTS-Academic test or equivalent; STEP test shall not be accepted.
3. Submitting a statement of purpose.
4. Passing a written examination held by council program.
