- Applicant must hold a full-time bachelor’s degree in political science from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
- Applicant not holding a political science degree may be accepted, provided that applicant should hold a bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: economics, law, sociology, history, public administration, mass communication (public mass communication or journalism), languages and translation, Sharia, and fundamentals of religion from KSU or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent.
- Passing a written examination, with a minimum success score of 70%, held by the department.

- Applicant holding a full-time bachelor’s degree in Islamic Sharia, Islamic Jurisprudence, or judiciary studies from King Saud University or any university accredited by Ministry of Education with a minimum of a “Very Good” (3.75/5) GPA or equivalent may be accepted.
- Passing written examinations held by the department with a minimum score of 60/100.
